We’re all garden lovers here at Keld Head and wandering around our wonderful Yorkshire gardens is how like to spend our spare time. Yorkshire has such a plethora of floral delights from historic walled gardens to tasteful Mediterranean style landscapes and sculpture gardens too.
Helmsley Walled Garden is one of our favourites, a Victorian walled garden in the heart of the town with a great cafe too in the old vinehouse. for those of you that have seen the latest Secret Garden film, Helmsley Walled Garden was used as a filming location.
Scampston Hall is a Walled garden with a difference, its not your traditional Victorian style garden, Piet Oudolf redesigned most of the garden giving visitors something to see all year round, with perennial planting and contemporary topiary. The added bonus to this is you get free access to the surrounding parklands and cafe too, so you can wander for hours with the whole family.
a couple more worth mentioning is Benningburgh Hall, which as just completed a Mediterranean style garden and also something completely different the Himalayan Gardens, perfect for all the family, a whole valley devoted to the Himalayan landscape, (just without the snow!)
so as you can see, garden lovers we have you covered, you could fill your stay with us with just visiting gardens. Sounds pretty good to us!
