Fancy a little peace and quiet before Christmas?

Woodland walks, sea air and cosy cottage evenings: make time for a November escape at Keld Head Farm Cottages near Pickering.

Before the Christmas shopping, wrapping and endless lists take over, how about squeezing in a little Yorkshire escape?

November is a lovely excuse to slow things down. Pull on your boots, pack an extra layer and spend a few days enjoying woodland walks, leisurely lunches and evenings with nowhere in particular to be.

Here at Keld Head, you can take your break at your own pace. Head into Pickering for a browse and a stop for something tasty, or take a flask to Dalby Forest and enjoy a wander beneath the trees. There’s no need to fill every minute — sometimes the best part of a holiday is having time to linger.

Fancy some sea air? A trip to Whitby makes a lovely change of scenery. Wrap up for a stroll beside the harbour, explore the little streets and round things off with fish and chips. We think they taste even better after a bracing walk!

And when evening comes, don’t forget to look up. On a clear night, the darker evenings are a wonderful opportunity for a spot of stargazing before heading back inside for a cosy night at your cottage.
